court of high pleasure of King Henry VIII, as told by Sir Henry
Guildford and his wife Mary Wotton.
Henry Guildford was the King's Master
of the Revels who was involved with the organisation of the Field
of the Cloth of Gold, which led to the lesser -known visit of Francis
I to Greenwich in1527. We look at the oranisation behind these grand
affairs that had a lasting political effect for Henry VIII, ushering
in a decade of Anglo-French entente cordiale, providing a
vital safety net for Henry's eventual divorce and break from Rome.
